Re: Random Observations

I'm currently observing an interesting thing as I type this: there are around 5-6 Mexican dudes (aka: "the people here to do the jobs Americans won't do") working on the property next door planting landscaping. Observe (taken moments ago):

I contrast this current scene to one of last week wherein 10-12 city road workers spent all day with a jackhammer opening a hole in the parking lot roughly 2-3 feet on a side. The observation is: every one of the Mexican dudes, who are prolly earning minimum wage (if that) are out swinging a pick or using a shovel whereas the 10 or so white city employee dudes out last week (where all certainly make multiples in excess of minimum wage) consisted of one guy occasionally using the jackhammer while his 9 buddies stood around, laughed, joked, smoked cigarettes, drank coffee and in general pissed the day away while making a racket both with and without the pneumatic hammer they were using.
I draw no conclusions...it is merely a random observation.

I've noticed that this holiday season, people seem to have nowhere to be rather than being in a rush to get there. So rather than doing 10-20 miles over the speed limit, they're doing 10-20 miles under the speed limit which is equally as obnoxious. Driving to school today in a 35 zone, I got behind this girl who was doing anywhere between 20-30 keeping inconsistent speeds. Then she got in the right turn lane to enter the school and just stopped in the turn lane.
PEOPLE, DRIVE OR GET OFF THE ROAD.
I am not asking anyone to speed; but seriously, driving too slowly is JUST AS DANGEROUS as speeding.
There- that's my rant for this thread.

I got stuck on a one lane road behind a Tractor. It sucked. I couldn't go around it cause there wasn't enough room for my truck to pass.

@macosxnerd101 I'm sorry. I didn't mean to piss you off.
Seriously. I drive like a little old lady. When my younger daughter was 4 years old, we stopped at our regular gas station. The pump handles are color coded (apparently for people who can't read the giant print octane stickers next to the nozzles): black for 87 octane, blue for 89 and red for 92.
My sweet baby girl looked at me and said, "I think I know why they are different colors - the red one makes you go fast, the blue makes you go medium, and the black one makes you go slow."
"Why do you think that?" I asked.
"Because you always use the black one. Maybe if you used the red one sometimes you could go faster."
You know it's bad when a 4-year-old notices.
