database connectivity in c#

i want to learn the basics of database connectivity in c#.i couldn't quite understand the code i saw in classroom specially certain keywords. can any1 refer to some links or books on this specific topic?

So go ask your tutor, and be a bit more proactive in class next time.

There are a few different ways to connect to databases and you will need to share more details of what tools you are using to get good help.

If we assume for the moment you are using ODBC (to pick just one of the possibilities) this is a resource available right here at DIC.

So to help more we need to know more.
What database are you connecting to (mySQL, DB2, what?)
What connection tool are you using?
Anything else you think would be useful for a stranger to get an understanding of what is happening inside your head so they can give you the help you desire.
