Getting rid of white screen in terminal

Posted 14 November 2006 - 08:35 AM

Ok I'm not even sure if this is a screen saver or not but you know how the screen fades to white when you are in a terminal? [Note: I experience this in Slackware] I want to get rid of this. I hate when this happens because 'sometimes' when I move the mouse or type something, I am unable to get back control of my terminal. Sort of just freezes up, forcing me to reboot. Has anyone experienced something similar ?

I have found the solution to my problem. In case anyone else experiences something similar, heres what I did to prevent the screensaver from activating:

%setterm -blank 0

Very simple and effective. Man 'setterm' for more info.
