unknown video format

Posted 20 January 2011 - 12:20 PM

hello all.. in the cache of chrome, videos are saved with names like f_00 followed by some numbers and letters (ex f_0064f7), i know that these are flv files and i only need to add .flv to the name for it to work, but recently i've been seeing videos with names like data_0 data_1 data_2 etc, and adding .flv to the names doesnt seem to make them work, they seem to be a different format which i dont know, any help on how i can view/save these videos? thanks.

can you open them with a hex editor and look for an identifying name in the header space of the file?
maybe it will say AVI, SWF, or 3G2.
This site might help you to identify the files:
What's it format.org
Hope that helps

Try .MP4 (or M4V) or F4V(still a flash file)
With the latest implementations of HTML5 more and more people have been switching to MP4 or even F4V
