I went with the usual two-handed sword and destruction character, and since enchanting is a skill now, I did that. I like how it sometimes zooms out in a cinematic as you gore your enemy.

I also got the perk where sometimes your standing power attack triggers a cinematic where you take off their head fatality style. The first time it happened it was just overkill. This one fugitive stole another hunter's enchanted axe and told me to hold on to it for him. The hunter in question came to me and I handed it back, causing the fugitive to run all the way back to attack me. I just held down the mouse button and watched as my kitty went highlander on him.

Instant kills are awesome~

my friend told me that with hand to hand, there is a cinematic where you rip out the enemy's heart! i might make a hand to hand character just to see it.

I always feel like I'm missing out a on a little awesome when I'm magic based in terms of these cinematics. Dragon Age didn't have magic kill scenes, and I haven't seen one in Skyrim yet either, although there are skills to cause people to disintegrate with high enough power, so I'm looking forward to that in a while.

Edit: Also, firebolt does knock people back enough that I always feel like I pulled off some old school dbz crap when I blast somebody across a room.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

So my latest Skyrim story...

I am in Riverwood and thought "Oh hey I will wander out of town a little, beef up my skills on some low level creatures (mud crabs, skeevers, wolves and the like)." Well anyways I go wander down the road a little and start to wade across the river when suddenly a dragon appears and starts toasting me. I am like "Damn what the hell!"

So since I am not expecting this, I am unprepared and go running back to Riverwood thinking I can seek some shelter. So I run in and the dragon comes right in and lands on one of the village houses. Starts torching up the place. I duck behind a house, change to ice again and shoot him down. But in the mean time half the residents are running around on fire and shit is getting kicked around town. Stuff is being torched and people are screaming.

After I ice him down, I survey the damage and suddenly I see a little boy running around town screaming "I can't believe this is happening!" and I am like "Chill out kid, the dragon is dead." Then I realized..... he was upset because his dog "Stump" was in the middle of the street dead.

Anyone remember Stump the dog and the boy in Riverwood? I had a good laugh and harvested the dog meat.

Pretty interesting encounter. :)

Heh.. please tell me "Stump the Dog" has four legs and the developers went "that way" for the joke.

"Yeeep... dat der Stump's a hell of a hound. Might not reach the bottom of a tuna can but sure as hell scrapes the sides!"

I demand photos!

When do you guys think would be a good time to make hand-to-hand? Like what guild would you join?

When I first ran into a giant it literally hit me all the way OVER the mountain that the greybeards live on. I shit you not.

I'm a wood elf. Great for sneaking/archery, though I'm currently donning 2x glass daggers.

Also, turns out Ustengrav on adept difficulty is shockingly easy at level 29 or whatever I am. Knocked it up to expert after one hitting everything. Can't wait to get the 19x damage backstab with daggers though. (Bring on master difficulty!)

@lilVaratep: any guild really, im doing thieves guild even though im a mage. i don't sneak at all, i just kill anything that can be killed and run by the rest :P hopefully i can find a paralyze spell, that way i can just paralyze the people i can't kill

after i feel like I've done everything with my mage i think ill make a rouge of some sort. probably a hand to hand rouge :P that way i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone

Thieves guild ftw! My thief skills are awesome, I can pickpocket people in plain sight and I literally turn invisible in shadows (nightingale agent perk ftw!)

Where are you up to? I've finished the guild questline, doing sidequests to "retore the thieves guild to its former glory"

Were I to magically get this for xmas, do you think my shitty Dell laptop with integrated graphics could handle it? I have an i5 processor if that matters any.

Integrated graphics, no way, not even Oblivion, I believe. Upgrade it to a 9800 at least if you can, that's what I have.

@Gabehabe, I'm currently doing the dark brotherhood storyline with my character that beat the main storyline, and I feel like I should remake an especially sneaky character for the dark brotherhood and thieves' guild.

Does anyone know if Skyrim supports controllers? I'm trying to use my PS3 with an emulator, but it doesn't seem to be working or detecting it.
