Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

so, today i power leveled my sneak with the greybeards thing and my illusion(cast courage on random people). i did all this becuase between, quiet casting, high sneak, and invisibility, i can make my master level destruction spells more useful. hiding gives me a chance to recharge after spending tons of magicka on blizzard, lightning storm(or was it thunder storm?), and fire storm. it also allows me to get into a position to make it useful.

i fear power leveling has come back to bite me :/ now all the dragons are ancient dragons, if they breath on me once im dead, and they take numerous hits with incinerate to kill. it took me 10 tries to kill the first one i found, all the rest have taken 5-6 tries. if you see one, try to get into some dense woods quick, hiding and sneaking if necessary. if it lands by you, the only thing you can do is try to run to it's backside and stagger it before it turns around.

i found an interesting tacit with blizzard, seems to work best on falmer in dwenmer ruins but anywhere you have a door way will work. put a door between you and the enemy, preferably a large one with steps leading upto it. shut the door, cast blizzard, then re-open the door and run. the enemies will walk right though the blizzard kill many of them. pick the rest off with less costly spell.

edit: a hallway with a turn would work too. you may have issues getting blizzard cast in time however

I don't know if you guys have explored around about DLC but I stumbled across this article which is super exciting and has a video that you should check out....

http://whatculture.c...y-some-part.php

I think gabe is probably in a good position to explore this and report back. I might try and make a run at it myself some time.

Sadly not since I'm playing on Xbox and it looks like you need to noclip, but it looks very promising.

Gonna go exploring the outer regions of the map for a while now though, been meaning to for a while.

Edit: Already found a cave that isn't marked on the map. Head straight northeast from Septimus Signus's Outpost (North of Winterhold)

Spoiler

Well I meant go explore the gate since you should be able to reach that. I know you won't be able to get into the other lands or anything

I thought the photos looked familiar, I've been past this gate before and figured it'd lead to some DLC. Never really considered that it could lead to Morrowind though.

So I found the gate to Cyrodiil and proceeded to search for other possible gates. I ran into a Forsworn camp, who somehow managed to kill Shadowmere! I reloaded my save and went back to slaughter them, this time leaving Shadowmere in a safe place. Problem is, after clearing them out, I can no longer find him. He's not where I left him, and he's not spawning when I fast travel.

If you're reading this Shadowmere, COME BACK. Never before have I had a more loyal companion, I miss our mountain climbing shenanigans! :(

A few minor updates. It seems though some bullshit anti lesbo coding for the game, skyrim took Lydia from me. After the magic anomaly attack in Winterhold (and a re-saving of the game) I noticed she wasn't next to me yawning. I wander around and spy her following some dbag mage as his property. Seriously. when I moused over her the title read "Dick Weed's Lydia" - where dick weed was the mage's name. Wow. That's some interesting ownership rights.

I was a bit pissy that I reflex saved after the battle, but before I saw this new twist and I exited the game to bing some results. Nothing was overly helpful so back into the game I went. Now I can't find her. She's not dead in a crypt.. not at mia casa.. not at dragon's reach.. wtf?! I exit back out of the game and spied some 'move to player' console command. Nope.. that didn't work. I then tried to move my player to her... aaaaaaand found I was glitched under the mage's tower but still no lydia. I think she fell through the map and is lost falling for ever. Super annoyed since that tramp's got some expensive gear.

I was looking for a companion and I bare knuckle brawled some old lady in a bar and she set out with me. Sure she looked impressive, but this twat is taking a knee so much in combat I started calling her Tebow. What the hell is that plate-mail doing for you?!

With a heavy sigh I drug my aging twat for the staff of magnus. What the hell are those Dragon Priests made of?! After about fifteen various gruesome deaths (and screaming at my stupid twat-tebow companion) it seems I hit an odd glitch. For some reason instead of two hitting me with chain lightening to my death I was in a sneak pose and homeboy didn't do squat for the attack. Tebow was saddled up with some flame sword so she whacked him twice and then decided it was going to fast so she peppered him with arrows. As he walked by I started lashing out with two magical axes and the guy didn't respond... instead he keeled over and I danced for joy at the win. All super odd since my sneak is good but I can't imagine it's *that* good.

I also wonder about the nature of the Mage's College's acceptance criteria. I mean finding a few artifacts, having visions, and an untimely death means I am at the top of the food chain? Tenure rocks!

Oh and I have only been attacked by one other dragon since the main quest one. Lame. I may go hunt down some dragon lairs and pay them a "candy-gram" visit.

It happened in Oblivion and it has now happened in Skyrim... I kill a creature in the dark brotherhood's lair and now everyone hates me!

You have a big problem with stuff disappearing in your game.

My first story from Skyrim:

I arrived in Falkreath for the first time last night and the second I arrived a dragon attacked out of nowhere. I'm fighting the dragon and of course the guards are helping. The dragon's health has dropped so low that only 1 hit would kill it. I launch what I thought would be my last arrow and definitely hit the dragon. The dragon's health doesn't drop at all. I fire another arrow, same result. I fire one last arrow at the same time that I realize there is a dark elf in brown robes on top of the dragon's head stabbing him repeatedly with a dagger in the head. Very nice fatality and soon after several stabs the dark elf jumps off of the dragon and it falls to the ground dead. I absorb it's soul as usual. After that, I walked over to where this dark elf was to have a chat with him and see if I could learn anything about him. It turns out that he is the caretaker of the cemetery and he goes into this long speech about how he is too old and frail for adventure... Old and frail my ass. This guy just leaped into the air and balanced himself on a dragon's head while it was thrashing around to get him off all the while repeatedly stabbing it in the head until it was dead but somehow he is too old and frail to go adventuring.

I have no idea why... all I can think of is that the shocking pile of loot is taking up too much memory, but that seems absurdly unlikely. There are only around 1,500 items there. (My game lags when I go near it, but I keep adding to it anyway)
