Usb male to male data link

Posted 25 November 2006 - 11:48 AM

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, this is the closest match i could find to my problem.

I have a usb male to male cable (bought for near to nothing off ebay) with the intention of using it to transfer 10gig or so of files from my laptop to my new computer. However, i need the drivers/software to do this.

Does anyone know where i can download this software?

Thanks

it is not an easy thing to do (if at all) with a standard 2X male usb cable. What you need is a device called a usb hub or usb network cable, it has a little bump in the middle for allowing 2 way transfer and includes a cd with a GUI interface which controls the direction in the hub (which needs to be installed on both machines.

it would probably be easier to connect them to the same network and simply pass them that way.
