Why two Processors?

Posted 03 February 2011 - 01:06 PM

Ok so the screenshot explains it better..

Why am i being shown to have two processors?? Whereas I have only one of those.. And this is not limited here.. Its in every program (Process Explorer, CPUz etc)..

Any Idea why this is happening?
Also for a computer with 2.8GHz With 1 Gb ram and a NVidea 9600 GT.. Its running mighty slow.. However that Must be because of the Ram.. But could it be related to this??

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I can't see the picture at work - if it's hyperthreaded or a dual core two processors will be listed.

What is your processor or computer model & brand? You using a dual-core chip?

Speed issue would be caused by low RAM, that is correct.

However, since Pentium 4 was a single core processor, the fact that two are showing up is odd. It is actually possible that there is some sort of malware eating your RAM and causing two processors to be read.

Some P4s had hyperthreading, which would cause two CPUs to show up.
