Well, you've still got plenty of time left. Today is the final day that I will accept submissions. I will begin the judging process over the next week. I've been really impressed with the entries so far, especially the sheer number of files per project that have been submitted. You've all done really well at completing the first challenge, and I look forward to throwing more challenges out there over the next couple of months and seeing what gets thrown back!

Update:

Getting close to crunch time. Love the adrenalin rush. :)

Have most of the game mechanics worked out. Player can move the ship, fire projectiles, and the projectiles collide with enemies. Enemies can be spawned and fire projectiles back. Still need to check player/enemy and player/enemy projectile collision. Should be done that shortly. The state manager is working great, including the pause feature. :) Think I will be starting on power ups next then collision between all other objects.

Won't be squeaking an official entry in at the deadline. However, when I'm finished my space shooter I'll make it available as an open source project for those interested.

That sounds keen, I love to learn, and one always learns something when examining others code.
I've turned mine in, called 'Space Zombie' even though I was unable to work on it the past few days. My work got in the way, they wanted me to work over the weekend, Wed through Thu! One must have money.
This is my first competition to create a video game, and the first game I've created using raw XNA (No 3rd party engine).
I don't have much hope for it, though one must start somewhere.

Submissions are officially closed for the first 3 Week Challenge. I've been surprised by the interests and the participation in this challenge. There were 4 entries who got in before the deadline so I'll do my judging over the next week and announce the winners next weekend. I'll also put together the details on the next challenge and hopefully make an announcement by the end of this week, so stay tuned!

Four entries?!? Woohoo! My chances of getting Gold, Silver of Bronze just went up dramatically.

I also look forward to getting Last Wave from SixOfEleven too to see what I should have been doing in the first place :/

Thanks for that link to opengameart.org too. It was quickly added to my favourites!

I'm very bummed I was unable to complete my game for this challenge. I was bombarded with tests/homework from school, plus I had strep throat for a week. I guess I wasn't meant to finish it...

Queen? What queen? What are you talking about? What does your question have to do with games?

Nothing really, you just say one a lot and well, it's not that popular of a word with this context, not unless you're part of the Royal Family, was just wondering.

Well unless being related to someone who was in the Nazi SS counts, I would say no.

Hi guys,

Just joined as I saw the challenge, then noticed I was too late to submit.

Never mind, hopefully another soon.

Just to update you guys on what's going on, I've run into a few issues in real life that have kept me from being able to get the judging for the first challenge taken care of. I'll do my best to get it done this week and I apologize for the delay. Writers Block, there will definitely be more challenges to take part in.
