I used to play this GTA SAN ANDREAS game on my previous Dell desktop computer with Win XP Professional SP2 OS. I installed the game from a CD. But now since I am using another computer, in order to continue playing the game I copied the installed folder to the new computer with Win XP too. But when I start the game on this new computer nothing comes. When I look at the task manager the I can see the process gta_sa.exe running. When I open the game again, "The following program needs to close, sorry for the inconvenience message comes out" I couldn't run the game. Does the game need to store values in the registry or did I miss files when copying from my old computer?
By the way I can play GTA VICE CITY Perfectly on my new computer.
If I am missing files, can anybody locate me the place I can get the full game for free.
Help Me Please

It's a bad idea to just copy files over. One of the realities of Window usage is an installing app usually drops files elsewhere. I would advocate installing the game but copying over the save files to the new pc. Not trying to copy over the 'program file' folder and running that.

I would do that for the future; but what should I do now?

Right now you should re-install the game as a fresh install right from the CD/DVD. Then you should look for your old saved game files, then copy those files to your new installation.
This is for older systems but maybe it will still work:

Vista: C:\Users\your username\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files.
If you can’t find this folder, do a search for “GTASAsf1.b”. This is the file name GTA uses for your first save slot for your game.

hey, The reason I copied the installed folder from my old computer to the new one is because I don't have the CD/DVD. Can you locate me some free download sites for this game?

Ok, I see where this is going. No! We will not help you perform illegal tasks. Free downloads do not exist legally. Dream.In.Code terms of service explicitly state that we do not support illegal activities.
