HTML 5 Drag and Drop / CMS Backend

Posted 25 February 2011 - 09:56 AM

Hello all,

I wanted to ask a question about HTML5 Drag and Drop. I'm trying to reinvent the wheel and build a usable CMS back end for a client who wants images to be positioned in places That she points to. I know given the code Drag and Drop for html 5 will allow user to place objects in other areas of the frame but does it dictate its pixels? Or can I query the object as to its current position and then store that information in a variable?

Alternatively I would also like to ask how other developers create their clients a CMS. I know the gist of my system fairly well the only missing piece is image placement. I'm not sure how to set it up so that the client can also use a CMD or WYSIWYG editor to place images in specific spots.

Thank you all for your assistance.

If you need drag & drop CMS, use ImpressPages. Always try to find tools instead developing them on your own.
