[Stupid Question] about Visual C# & Visual C++ Express

Posted 18 March 2011 - 07:23 AM

I have a stupid question:

It's about "Microsoft Visual C# Express Edition" & "Microsoft Visual C++ Express Edition".

Just look at the pictures, look the exe files:

Build with C# http://imgh.us/Visua...ssEXEOutput.bmp
the exe file has information, that displays under the filename

Build with C++ http://imgh.us/Visua...ssEXEOutput.bmp
here the exe files doesn't display anything under the filename, why :nervous:

is this a bug in C++ Express or what??

the same happens with DLLs,
in C#, text displays under the filename
in C++, not! :rolleyes:

---------------
first: sorry because I'm a NOOB! :stupid:

and second: is this a bug, or something else? can i fix this, is there something to config in the Visual C++ Compiler or the program itself??

pls replay, i'm a C# noob, i can develop better app in C++, but i want that my exe looks nice, and not only the filename.

:stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

Well, I don't know much about Visual C++, but are you actually "releasing" your project? When you run the code there is a chance that it only compiles a "debug .exe" and maybe there's a button or something to actually "release" the project with a polished exe?

there are actually the same problem in debug and release mode.
i think there must be an error with the assemblies in C++/CLI.
in C# there are no problems with it!

i would use C# if i would know to to compile C/C++ Header files to an DLL file and use it in C#
because i need C++ Libs like "C++ Boost Library" for string algorithm and property tree, ...
wide-character-output lib to display unicode characters in console apps like: ф ъ ь б ю я ы п к or arabic character (this works with an arabic font in the console, registry hack make this possible, i tried this)
i tried different ways to do that but nothing works for me...
