I love Trust Company. Shame they broke up.

Well then, this will be good news for you. They reunited a couple of years ago and just released a new album like maybe 2 weeks ago called Dreaming in Black and White.

... Shitttt. That's awesome, I'll give it a look tomorrow! Thanks.

I'll avoid the cry that people should listen to those that were popular and have taken a back seat.

Courtney Love and the band Hole put out a great new cd ('Nobody's Daughter') and for sure it should be listened to. 'Letter to God' is up there with touching songs.
Candlebox's "Into the Sun" is stellar as well. When they played 'Miss You' they had a terribly moving video of solders coming home to loved ones.
Collective Soul's latest was a fun cd.

Outside of those guys I think 'Supreme Beings of Leisure' should be heard though rarely is.

Metric's "Monster Hospital" off 'Live it Out' is a great song.

Goldfrapp's "Train" has been spotted in a few commercials but the cd 'Black Cherry' is a great spin.

Over all I think the general area of "opera" should be represented. Sofia Kallgren's rendition of "Ave Maria" is brutally amazing. I feel people should at least snag an 'Absolute Opera' and keep it on the back rotation (but listen to it). The unsynthed human voice is shattering. If anything I believe King said it best through Red:

Quote

I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I'd like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.

Went to API at New College this past weekend. My girlfriend's friend did a session on Appalachia, modern and classic Appalachian Folk Music, and United Mountain Defense.

It was interesting to say the least.

@Craig328I have a few primer 55 albums on my iPod. I listen to them when I want to go for the 'opening act' feel. Though I have certainly coded a project or two while listening to them.

I'll have to add Westley Willis

& Atari Teenage Riot

If you're not listening to the REST of Mumford and Son's album, you're REALLY missing out. So far my favorite album in the last 5 years easy :)

Got into a yelling match with kids over the existence of Social Distortion. The only thing that got me through was to post this vid here so the internet can win.

Clearly under represented by the world.

Big fan of Die Toten Hosen. German Punk band. They were featured in a bonus track on Guitar Hero 3(ish). Here's a favorite of mine.

The Tossers. Irish Punk band. They mix drinking type songs with soulful ballads(aka, my kind of band).
