Is Denmark stuck in some wormhole that holds its citizens 15 years in the past or something?
I'd also like to know what is so funny about the 1.1.1.1 mac address thing. Is it because it isn't a mac address at all, not even in the format of a mac address? That's what you find humorous?

I'm pretty sure Denmark wouldn't fit through one.

you're forgetting the supergate
still not large enough but if you chop denmark into small pieces I bet it's possible.
anyway, the term nerd is very subjective. I dont consider myself a nerd/geek.
ask anyone in my family however and they will probably say that I am.
I also don't consider nerd/geek to be offensive terms.
someone calling other people nerds/geeks (in a bad way) might as well say, "hey, look at him, he's probably smarter than me. Isn't that funny?"

I will try to redifine my point with martyrs answers...
1. 1.1.1.1 as a mac address is funny but the "super nerds" make it a 6 hour conversation, thats a little to much me thinks.
2. I love magic, i got 800 cards not counting my mana cards... But to try and play a game in a 10 minute break is just madness....
3. Duke nukem is awesome, but it´s all the time he sits there shouting... It´s quite frustrating when trying to get work done...
Let´s call them annoying instead

So what you're really trying to do is make yourself feel like less of a super-nerd by mocking the people who do all the same things you do, but slightly more psychotically?
Let's apply this logic elsewhere:
Scene 1: You're a high school, second string quarterback. The first string QB is a kick ass player. You spend your time running about mocking "super football boy"... haha, all super football boy wants to do is play football! Look at super football boy... playing with his stupid ball again! haha.
The outcome: 5 years later, super football boy has an NFL contract worth millions and you spend your Sundays, Mondays (and sometimes Thursdays) in a recliner telling your fat, bald buddies how that should have been you.
Scene 2: You're 9 years old. There's a kid in your class who is reading at a 12th grade level. He reads constantly... always has his nose stuck in a book of one variety or another. You also enjoy reading, but aren't as proficient or adamant as super book-reader boy, so you mock him on the playground. Everyday, you make his life hell because he's not like you.
The outcome: Super book-reader boy goes on to an ivy league scholarship while you go to state school and spend your time mocking the students who aren't like you.
Seeing the pattern here?
The facts, as I see them:
(1) You are a CS major in college
(2) You play Magic (and have over 800 cards)
(3) You enjoy Duke Nukem
(4) You also find the mac address joke to be entertaining
My interpretation: You are also a super nerd. Perhaps if you spent more time worrying about yourself and less time worrying about what everyone else is doing before, during, between and after classes, your life would be a much happier place.
Yes this is exactly the same /End sarcasm
How can you compare super football guy with a guy that shouts DN qoutes every 10 seconds, and im not exaterating here... How will this ever lead to an accomplishment like super football guys accomplishment????
But you all know what, i feel like im taking to a brick wall here because the point was never to ridicule anyone nor was it my intension to mock anyone....
The point (which some people got) was if you had someone at your workplace/school that did something that might seem slightly strange to you or maybe even annoyed you when trying to work...
And im sorry that i used the word super nerd about these guys because apparently i stepped over some peoples toes...

the point you missed that everyone else made is that you're making fun of a bunch of people who do the very same thing that you do. Just slightly more fanatically.
"Yeah I like Magic, and have 800 cards, I just don't play it on my 10 min breaks in class."
Ohhhhh no. That guy is soooo weird. He happens to play a game you both enjoy on his break... you smoke a cigarette. How weird, filling your lungs with smoke and killing yourself. I mean yeah I smoked for 15 years, but you're just weird spending your 10 minute breaks smoking with your friend. Ugh, annoying.

I am toss'n this out there - I have plans to steal the right humerus of Gary Gygax to have made into the ultimate set of polyhedron dice! These babies will never fail!
In the mean time I suffer with these "children's" toys. They are not manly dice. Dice that when rolled the heavens split open and the earth shudders. Dice that may finally put hair on my chest.

OP - wow the back pedaling is amazing! Yes, splitting hairs between nerds based on frequency and public exposure to activities you both participating in (to an extensive degree) is amusing. It proves the "group archetypes" exist, and are enforced, even in sub groups.
I'll give you a pass on your word choice of "[u]slightly[u] strange to you" since to list off the "slightly strange" (or annoying) things I encounter and ignore every day would lock up my gears for a day or two.

You forgot the slash in the closing bracket. To be honest, I don't even know what a MAC address is, but I watch anime, played DnD and MtG, and I program and play video games on friday nights. What am I?

Duh, everything! Haven't you ever seen a movie with a nerd in it ("can't Hardly Wait") or any episode with the Lone Gunmen and Skully? In the oogly-eyed nerd world, bewbies are king!

Well, your lack of technical knowledge means you don't get super-nerd status, sorry. But you have certainly demonstrated nerdward leanings. The gaming alone is only enough to get you nerd wannabe, but since you also have some programming and knowledge of hardware you are promoted higher than that. Congratulations, you're a girl-nerd! Gerd, perhaps?
