Execute .sh file in Ubuntu 10.04 not working

Posted 23 March 2011 - 12:26 PM

Hi there,

Yet another Ubuntu question from me here. You probably going to see quite a few of these..
Anyways, I downloaded a .sh file from Oracle, which is the Java JDK 1.6 for Linux.

When I try and execute the .sh file (execute as program is enabled under properties > permissions, just fyi). The following happens:
First a screen pops up (Options.png). When I select 'run in terminal', i see a split second flash of what I think to be the terminal, it's too hard to tel. When I select 'Run', absolutely nothing happens. And when I select 'Display' I get the error(error1.png).

Anyone know why this is happening??

.sh's are server-side install scripts..
