hello, so im trying to set up a wake on lan over the internet, it succesfully works on my network but when i try to use it over the interent. it dosnt work. i have the ports forwarded right because i also am hosting a vnc server and it works.
I tried port 9, somone told me there maybe to much trfic on that port so i also tried port 5850.
Does anyone have any suggestions.

Are you using a router? You need to ensure that your router is also configured to forward the specific port you are trying to come in over. The steps to do this will vary on the type of router you have and you'll need to google how-to for your specific router but it's usually fairly easy.
The fact that your VNC is working just means that the port your VNC is using is being forwarded.
Also if your on a Linux system and your shutting down via the "shutdown -h now" command you'll need to use "shutdown -h -P now" otherwise your wol will not work.

Are you refering to forwarding the ports?
Next thing ill try is putting the computer in the dmz zone.(outside the network)
Should the broadcast be set to 255.255.255.255 or 255.255.255.252 or somthing else?
here are the ports i have forwarded 9,5900,5850

thanks for all the help but i found that my router has some ddos protection and it was blocking the packet.
