rewrite url to exclude directory... I cant get it to work.

Posted 13 April 2011 - 08:43 PM

Hello all i am having an issue with my web site, It is my gallery.... It is set up in the htdocs/gallery/.. folder, and my domain has a subdomain (gallery.mysite.com) when accessed it looks like this (gallery.mysite.com/gallery/..) which issues a server error 404... when you remove the second /gallery/ from the url it works just fine.

The gallery has a example of a .htaccess file that worked for my galleries home directory, but the subdirectories refuse to accept all my attempts to use the .htaccess file to remove the odd directory.

the below is what i have been attempting to work with... with changes , such as the rewritebase, rewriterule, even adding a rewritecondition, nothing has worked...
RewriteEngine on
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^(.*)twg_album/(.*)$ $1twg/index.php?twg_album=$2 [L,R]

The gallery is a PIMA until i can get the url fixed... Please let me know what i can do to get that working...
