@modi haven't decided yet, re-posted in this thread so I didn't have to make a new one. It seems the dv7t suffers from the same issues with the switchable graphics (only uses the intel one instead of switching over to the AMD one) and does not support OpenGL which i'm a bit confused with. Do adobe products such as illustrator and photoshop need OpenGL to run?

Edit: was also recommended the http://www.samsung.c.../NP-RF511-S02US

My cousins have an Alienware, it's not that bad but it's not that good. I still recommend the HP I was talking about earlier.

Yeah I'm looking into HP more but the dv6t quad core series lack opengl and I need that to run photoshop/illustrator. I'm looking into the Envy series at the moment.

Asus N82JV is doing wonders for me as a uni student, its quiet and cool. Battery life is decent if im not gaming during lectures. 2 year warranty included at no cost comes in handy. Use to have an acer aspire and it was a piece of junk. I'm sticking to Japanese products

I have a friend who has the MSI FX 610, which has a 5470M with 6GB of DDR3 ram. You can code while gaming lol. I am ordering one now and it seems like a great system.

Here is the link: MSI FX610-034US Notebook AMD Phenom II Quad-Core P960(1.8GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory 640GB HDD DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
