Anyone here ever developed a socket server ?

Posted 29 April 2011 - 11:05 AM

I've worked with a few socket servers and done some server side scripting in Java for some flash multiplayer games.

Purely in the interest of expanding my knowledge in this area, I've been thinking about attempting to develop a socket server.

I know there is probably a wealth of information that is available and I'll be googling all the way as my first resource. But, if possible I was hoping to find a mentor to answer questions that I might have along the way in terms of concepts and efficiencies.
