So I found this while surfing the web last week:
Basically, it is a computer that will cost around 25 dollars upon final completion, and it is the size of a usb drive. It is running Ubuntu, and it connects to USB for input while an HDMI port shows output. The reason for creation is that many "computer science courses" have become just courses that show how to use applications like Word and Excel. I am a firm believer computer science has strayed too far from what it is intended to be.
Other info:
700MHz ARM11
128MB of SDRAM
OpenGL ES 2.0
1080p30 H.264 high-profile decode
Composite and HDMI video output
USB 2.0
SD/MMC/SDIO memory card slot
General-purpose I/O
Open software (Ubuntu, Iceweasel, KOffice, Python)
Any thoughts on how this will catch on/innovate, or will it be a total FAIL?
