I have a compaq d220 mt computer that was working fine until I removed one of the 2 1gig ram chips to use in another computer. after i removed it wouldnt boot to screen and gives now a repeated 4-beep cycle. according to hp docs it is because of a Flashing failed (checksum error, corrupted image, etc.). Now i have added/removed ram before on plenty of computers but this time seemed to be a problem.Also, I have reset bios before but this mother board has a button on it and im unsure how the procedure is done. could this fix my problem? thanks in advance

From what I read on the link you provided that beep sequence can occur when flashing or updating the bios. Unless it displays that error specifically I would see what kind of BIOS you have and see the beep code for that BIOS instead of the common ones for HP computers.

It's possible it's just the memory stick problem, some PCs require both slots have a stick in them, some require that if only one stick it has to be in a certain slot. I would move the stick still in the PC to the empty slot you took the other stick from and see if that fixes your problem. If it doesnt try putting both sticks back in and see if the error goes away.

I've tried putting back the stick and trying others with no success. I've looked up the motherboard and model of this computer to find same thing about the 4 beeps codes . i just am not sure as to what I can to reset bios or whatelse would fix it.

Hm. My thought would be to clean everything, heatzink, fans and so on, from dust. Then reconnect everything. Jank everything out and reconnect it to the board.
