since ive got some time on my hands (on vacation), ive decided to mod my case which ive been waiting for long. here's my list of things to do.
- Put a side window (preferably rounded rectangle) with a graphic logo on it.
- put two 80mm fans on top, one 120 mm fan in front, 2 80mm fans on side.(but first i must make sure the airflow's correct)
- Cathode tube lighting and/or Led lighting as appropriate. (your views on this please, im familiar with LED's , not cathode tubes)
- Hard disk coolers (i have 2 250 Gb HDD's now, get kinda hot)
-Temperature sensor. (a must, since my PC always is under use and ill need constant monitoring)
- last but may not do is to go for liquid cooling (its pretty HOT where i live and no air con, room temp is at an average 35 - 37*C) so ill need to know how effective fan cooling will be)
Case mod ideashere's mine, post yours.

Xenon,
Sounds like an interesting project. Post some pictures of the process! I'm actually looking to do something similar with a used Xbox I picked up. I'd like to get Linux on it, run MythTV, and get a USB PVR for it, so that I can replace many of the gadgets in my entertainment center (DVD player, PVR, Cable box), plus, I'll have no need to buy one of those fancy schmancy Apple TVs. I'm building a custom case for it, so it'll be a similar adventure with me. Stories from your experience will help once I have all the circuitry and logic figured out (I had to build my own "mod" chip, because the ones on the internet are too cheap...)

Its been quite a while since anyone posted..so how is your project going? Airflow can be a tricky thing, the best thing to do is to compare the sizes of your fans and go research the cfm (Cubic Feet per Minute) that the fans can push out, also try and have a detailed air flow diagram layed out so that you know which fans blow which way, a good system should have 2 out for every 1 in (in an IDEAL system)
