I was a responsible citizen before the bans thanks.
I only smoked in the rooms designated as a smoking area so I wouldn't effect those who chose not to be in a smokey environment.

I guess if you didn't notice whether we have a smoking ban yet...

I have a poor memory and have been avoiding pubs since my son was born...that doesn't mean I wont stand up for our rights as citizens.
You don't even have to be a smoker to recognise when rights are being trampled on.

I don't mind that they banned it in public around here, I quit on New Years and anyone smoking near me since then runs the risk of being bludgeoned to death with my cell phone so I can steal their pack and finally end the nic fit I've been on for the last month :) It's for the safety of the public. heh.

The builder working on my house quit cold turkey. He had a heart attack two weeks ago and hasn't been allowed to touch tobacco since. He spent the worst of it in hospital where they wouldn't let him smoke so he's past all the craving and everything.

I've never actually been addicted. I smoked A LOT at Uni...there was nothing else to do especially out on digs in the middle of nowhere but I quit for a year after Uni now I only smoke 2-3 cigarettes a week for the taste and buzz :)

the thing is your body heals anyways as soon as you stop smoking...2 packs a day will kill you...1-4 cigarettes a day is good for you (they taught that to my friends at medical school) and second hand smoke is over rated... fooboo i agree with you dude..they are stepping on our rights...but the funny thing is no-one does anything about it...look i hate alcohol..what it does to people etc... i don't go to bars often (except the occasional time all my friends go) because i don't like alcohol.when drunks come into my mothers shop...we can't kick them out...at uni when the fucker next to you reeks from alcohol i can't do anything about but move away...when that stupid class slut brings all her perfume with her sprayed from head to toe coz she didn't have a shower i cant do shit about it even though too much perfume gives me a huge headache!!! so why the hell do they wanna fuck with us smokers??? we know what we are doing (sort of :) ) why don't they try to make people drink more responsibly instead!!!!smoking in a car never killed anyone but drinking has... tackle that shit instead!!!... keywiz...dude that post was hilarious...maggie...i think your a bit high ;)

Yeah, sorry maybe that sounded a bit harsh. I was supposed to have a lecture last night, but the tutor didn't show up, and today and tomorrow I have a 2 day long meeting  , so I'm in a harsh kind of mood!

Yes. I admit. ;)

After getting sacked yesterday, as soon as I got off our office, I bought a pack of cigarettes. Which, I have no intention of using. Unless, I get really emo.

But I doubt it. I'm GOOOD.

well i'm actually wondering how many people have wasted boxes of cigarettes like for silly things example given above with maggie :)
i once through away a whole pack because me and my friend nearly had a serious car accident (was in stnd 9, just started smoking and i was 17 both of us had no licenses and he was driving his brother new vr6 jetta) so i thought i would change my ways and become a good boy since GOD saved my ass...
i bought another pack the next day and i was pissed off that i through the other one away... :)

whatever the legislatures in america are so screwed up. besides how long are these people taking to walk into a resturant?, maybe 10 seconds, how does one get cancer in 10 seconds?

according to his profile, he's in south africa, not america. it's a fucking accumulation of smoke that causes cancer anyway.

yaah i'm in south africa...the accumulation of smoke does coz cancer..i agree completely...but as i pointed out earlier that your body heals extremely quickly when it comes to smoking...so if for example you stand with me while i smoke (a whole cigarette) as soon as i stop smoking or you leave your body will begin to heal...so (i will safely assume) that after a few hours your lungs would have healed from the damage caused by the smoke :)

i'd like to see some proof on that because with my understanding of the second hand smoke that people inhale that your body does not get rid of all of it. and even if it did, that's beside the point, you're breathing very soiled air which is unhealthy which can be interpreted as unsafe. the government has a job to protect the people, that's why we pay taxes therefore, considering it's a sheer addiction, people who don't smoke shouldn't be forced to breathe the bullshit exhaled by people who do.

an extreme case of second hand smoking fucking with me is when i go to the bowling alley, play a few games, if i try to jog afterwards, i'll get winded and it's likely i'll get a sideache because i've been breathing contaminated air. it effects everyone of us
