Basically, I would suggest that go with Sony laptops. Absolutely avoid Acer and eMachines.
Also, avoid anything with Intel Graphics.
Lastly no Netbooks. Not if you want a good comp anyways...

Maybe it's just my luck but I've owned 4 Sony laptops in the past and just about every single one was a piece of shit. They all had issues of their own. Contrast to that, every Dell I've owned worked flawlessly.

That said, I've converted to a MBP since 2007 so things may have changed since in Sony's world.

Maybe I'm getting paranoid but I think this is spam. Two guys, create profiles the same day, each havent posted since, each have a weird name, each last visit around the same time as their only post and a link to another computer support forum. The spellings off too, just like those letters I get from the Nigerian prince.
