Which is funny because Tech has Graphic Design program. It's unfortunate that CS is seen as such a cool degree (which it is, if you actually LIKE computer science) when in reality it's not like everybody things it is. I don't think we were done weeding until I walked across the stage.

I actually managed to spend absolutely no part of my college experience getting laid. I do not recommend it.

i'm in the same boat. college for me was just a matter of showing up and doing as little work as i could to get decent enough grades. i didn't dorm and worked full time so that prob didn't help with the social aspect for me. no regrets

I can check off most of my general education stuff except for English, Physics, and two engineering classes. Econ counts for most of my liberal arts requirements, and CS and math take care of most of the technical courses.

You may know what to expect from engineering physics, but wait for "Intro to Object Oriented Programming.".

I got a 5 on the AP CS exam, so I place out of that. I called the CS department, and they said it was possible to test out of 2114(?) Software Development and Data Structures based on the instructor. That would really be the only other weedout/intro class I can think of. It really just looks like OOP and Linked Lists, though.

Don't sell your lib arts classes short.

Lots and lots of computer nerds can program. Not all that many are well rounded individuals who can also speak, write and debate effectively. The ones who end up being effective project managers, head IT departments and end up being VP of MIS/IT are the ones who do more than wear glasses with tape on the nosebridge or walk around with a pocket protector.

You guys are just sad.

After my freshman year of college, I moved home - with my puritan parents - and worked two jobs while attending school full-time. Even then, getting laid was not an issue.

The problem with a social life is you actually have to talk to other people... even if it's just to say, "Hey, wanna fuck?"

I love that you use that quote, because that's literally my greeting to many of my female friends, some of whom would probably consider it if we had better circumstances.

It's not that I couldn't have gotten laid. The first 2.5 years I had a long distance relationship that was sputtering to a slow death, and after that I was just oblivious and never bothered dealing with many of the immature women my friends(all younger than me, and I was kind of lame for kids my age to begin with) knew. Apparently I was between "viable" and "old man" and was considered "intimidating" by at least a couple. C'est la vie.

I'd rather have a "meaningful connection" than random hookup, although I'm not opposed to either. I'm just a sap =p

Edit: The relation was dying, not the girlfriend.

Just to clarify... was it your girlfriend that sputtered and ultimately died and you are posting about her like an unfeeling dick... or was it your relationship that was sputtering and you couldn't find the balls to end it in hopes of possibly seeing some bewbs while they were still young enough to be pert?

Greaaaaaaat... here comes the war stories from college. Let's hit a tempo like when Banky and Alyssa had when comparing scars on various "going down" adventures in the movie "Chasing Amy".

Actually that's a good story for another thread, but I'll continue to hijack this one. The relationship was great for about a year and a half, and then things started to not work. Distance was too much, school was too much, whatever the cause, it should have ended sooner. However, every time I went to break up with her, tragedy struck. I shit you not, this was a general course of action:

Today's the day I break up with my girlfriend so we can both go on to better live.
*phone call to girlfriend
"My father's in the hospital with a heart attack!"
Well, I'll just have to wait, because I'm not going to make her day worse.

Weeks later...
"My dog died!"

Weeks later
"My grandpa just got diagnosed with cancer!"

Weeks later
"My friend died in a car accident"

Weeks later
"Another friend died in a car accident!"

All true, easily verified stories. By the time I finally said "Fuck it, I'm doing it no matter what," she was on summer vacation, so I still ended up being "that asshole."

Eh. I guess "chick" is better than "broad".

[edit]Nice. You caught yourself a train wreck. Hope you played with yourself a lot anyway. :) [/edit]

Apparently one is prone to walking about offering to engage in illicit sexual congress with complete strangers.

In case yer keeping score, the one that does that is the "better" one.
