Winter/Spring Photo Share

If you noticed I was absent this weekend, you were correct. I went on a roadtrip with my Fiance and her family. We went to Carlsbad Caverns in southern New Mexico and White Sands National Park.

This is a photo I took in the Carlsbad Caverns. To give you an idea of the scale, you can see the walking path which is about 1/4 mile long in this photo:

This photo was taken with a 13 second exposure with my Sony DSC-828. I've got a few more really good ones that I'll upload later. It's really tough to comprehend the size if you've never been to the caverns. These pictures just look like a very small piece but in fact the Caverns extend for hundreds of miles and are hundreds of feet high. I believe the room this picture was taken in was over 300 feet high.

Here's another photo. This is about the same scale as the last one. You're looking at a room that's 300+ feet high and 800+ feet wide. This is around 750 feet below ground.

i went to carlsbad 5 or 6 years ago.
got attacked by the bats at night.

Thanks man. They were shot with the cell phone, and most of them after the screen broke, blindly. lol
