BA or BS?

Posted 16 July 2011 - 07:02 PM

While looking into the CUNYs in my area for a major in Computer Science, I found one that looked very appealing (and also had a course for Japanese language studies). But to my surprise, they only have that major as a Bachelor of Arts. There are other CUNYs around with Computer Science, but not that appealing. Will companies favor a BS in CS than BA in CS?

AS it stands where I go, a BA is just fine. We don't have a graduate program, we graduate with a bachelor of the liberal arts in computer science. But its really all the same. I'm working at a grad school this summer doing research and they told me that the experiences and internships you do, in combination with your electives separate you from the crowd of CS majors. I'd go to a place that fit my interests, i'm studying japanese as well, rather then trying to get a type of degree when there really is no tangible difference.
