Dual monitor setup on windows7.

Posted 24 July 2011 - 07:27 AM

I want to setup two monitors for windows7 but have some questions:

1.If my tower only has 1 VGA output, is there any form of splitter long enough to travel about 3-4 feet.

2.Will windows7 automatically detect the new monitor and adjust it so that it is in dual monitor format?

and 3. I have a spare monitor and a spare laptop. I see a VGA input on my laptop, so could I use a laptop as the possible third display?

All help is appreciated :)

re #1: travel 3-4 feet to meet the monitor cables or to travel 3-4ft to meet the back end of the monitor?

re #2: In theory yes. Make sure your videocard's up for the task.

re #3: I think you mean your laptop has a VGA out. It only has one VGA connector in the back, right? I have rarely seen laptops with vga in.

I was looking for cables that can travel 3-4 feet to the back of the montior.
Also I think I misunderstood the VGA in and out for my laptop :/

Anyway thanks for the link it had all the info I needed :)
