I'm kinda interested in it too but i saw that there's machine learning in the syllabus and got a little afraid since I had not learned about machine learning before. Would be too hard to follow if I actually signed up? Nikitin said gradients and partial derivatives would be needed for this portion, and if i understood those maths would I be able to follow?

For anyone who is not aware, the official signup for the class has begun. If you entered your email before, you will get instructions. If not, go to www.ai-class.com
The course will be offered in two tracks, basic and advanced. The basic will just have lecture questions (same content), and the advanced will have homework, midterms, and exams. Start with the advanced, as if you find it too hard you can drop down to basic, but I don't know if you can jump up from basic.
As far as requirements go, you need basic linear algebra. http://www.khanacademy.org/ has free videos to help you out, should you need. I believe you will also be graded on concepts, not actual code, so no specific language is required.
The advanced track will consume about 10 hours per week, where as the basic should just be 4.

Nice! Just signed up for the advanced track.
Also, the deadline to sign up is October 9th, not September 10th.

Signed up for the advanced track, glad the deadline wasn't the 10th. I hope I'll have enough time to keep up with the advanced course and not have to move down onto basic.
