Lexmark z750 not working in ubuntu

Posted 21 February 2007 - 06:16 PM

I have a lexmark z750 that I need to get working in Ubuntu. I've looked at the Ubuntu forums, but those things are confusing! The only thing I came up with is to get it to recognize it as a Z11, and when I try to print, it sits forever and then spits out a blank page. Any ideas?

I've never gotten a lexmark to work under linux, they barely work under windows

So I assume what you do is from the cups configuration page, select your printer and select its type or driver as a Z11

No, it already knows it's a z11, but it isn't. It's a z715. I don't want it to be a z11!

Really your best bet is you search newsgroups for someone with your situation.

But in reality, its probably not going to work.

Looks like they are developing drivers for linux. I would search somemore on Lexmarks site.

Also as Nova Dragoon pointed out you don't have to use the same model driver for your printer to work. I have set several espon printers up with an older model driver under Slackware just Fine.
