So if anyone's been keeping up with the not-so-headlining news, you might have heard that CompUSA is closing 100 of its 200-odd stores in the US. Ask them about it and they'll deny it, but there's a URL hack out there to find these amazing deals.
http://www.compusa.c.../blowoutXXX.htm
Find the store number of the store nearest you, replace the XXX with the store number and you can catch a glimpse of a few awesome deals going on. Most of them ain't too special, but I guess every store has it's gems.
The one closest to me has
"Pavilion w5630la Torre mini, Intel Pentium D Procesador 820, 2.8GHz, RAM 1GB, Disco Duro 250GB, Unidad Optica DVD+/-RW and 48X CD-Rom, Windows XP Espanol Edition" For $449, didn't know they made spanish computers.

CompUSA has always seemed like the Kmart of computer stores. At least the couple stores I've been to in MN.
It's no surprise that they're being ran out of business.
Then again with the demand of electronics stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, and CompUSA, it's surprising that CompUSA isn't doing well despite their shabby appearance.

around here they're the only place that actually has a good supply of shit. the only problem is since they're competing like mark jr said, their high prices drive their business down to hell

I had a CompUSA store closing near my house. I purchased a 350GB SATAIII HD for 25 bucks.
