There's this site I visit for daily stock quotes.
I just go to the page and save it to my pc so that I can later strip it.
The page has combos for day, month and year and I could see older quotes.
These older quotes also save to my pc as they are on the web.
Of late, when I go to the site and use the combo to get older quotes,
they open up as usual, the source code (using view source code) shows everything as ok.
When I now save this old quote, it REALLY saves the latest day quote (which is the
default loaded by the site on entry until you use the combos for older ones).
Long cut solution: I can open an older quote, view source and copy source to notepad and
save from notepad. This is too long a process.
Short cut solution: I use chrome 11.0 and mozilla 3.6 on linux. Are there addons for these
browsers to do this long cut solution for me?
Other solution: Suggestions are welcome.
NB: it's an .asp page if it's any help.

Hello olibenu,
maybe when you are saving the browser it is saving as an html page and when you double click it to open it it is automatically connecting to the net and updating the data there , did you try working with it while option Work Offline is on ???

Offline has nothing to do with it.
The pages all open offline but show the most recent date instead of the old date selected!
My theory is that during the save, it defaults to the most recent date.
I'm not a web dev so i'm not sure how web page saving is done (my guess is that it's the browsers work).
Found it!
My Firefox does not have the problem, seems it's a chrome issue!
Fixed!
