I talked to my uncle last night(lives in Tyler, Texas), there are apparently smaller "flash" fires all around Texas(including Tyler). If one of these "flash" fires is allowed to get too big, which is likely due to already thin resources, it has ample potential to turn into another significant fire.

Yes... fire spreads.

unfortunately history is why you're still around.

Agreed rofl.

It's just new to Texas. Where I'm from we have Forrest fires all the time.

forest fires are not new to texas.

it just happens to be at a very impressive scale during a massive drought which makes the logistics of the situation very difficult. especially when volunteer fire departments had their budgets slashed. WOOPS.

Those budget cuts don't go into effect until next year, btw. So it's not really a factor in the current situation.

Fires of this scale aren't usual in Texas, for sure. It's not like California, where they have shit like this every few years.

Not new apologies, just more frequent as of recent due to as you said, the drought. Yep... let the politicians handle it though. :P Lived very close to the Hayman fire in 2003 up in Colorado, and since moving further away I seem to have moved towards the future sights of about 20 other massive Forrest fires. Best we can do is not wait till the fire department has to do something, that is clean up the land, cut down trees that exceed safe proximity, as well as grooming other trees, and cutting grass. Just a few of the most effective methods.
