You can get plans for jewelcrafting and blacksmithing so maybe there's a badass combo gem in there should you find it. I've got hundreds of pages for jewelcrafting and tomes. More should drop than you need.

where are you finding these crafting pages

In nightmare pages are random drops and in hell tomes are random drops as well.

I'm aware of this already. There's a difference between plans, tomes, and pages if you misunderstood me. There are plans you can teach your jewelcrafter or blacksmither.

What I was thinking was more in the line of d2 where you can make runewords. Is there an equivalent to this in d3?

That didn't come till the expansion for D2 so I'm unaware right now of those but there's a lot of plans and things in the work so we can hope.

Unfortunately no. Runes are attached to skills instead. And you don't find them you earn them through leveling.

My poor Barbarian is having a hard time in Act 1 Inferno, and I was reading the forums for a bit of advice... came across this for a strategy and I couldn't help but laugh my ass off 'cause it's so true!

Wasn't that always broken as hell? I remember the initially released a set of them with the expansion, and they were supposed to release more, but ended up taking some words away, more came in, and then they left again, and then I could have sworn that the whole thing was limited to a handful of words and they didn't always work...

Nope they got the runeword items working no problem, and actually they became the last drive for the best items for many. Couldn't tell you how many people were trying to get enigma, it was ridiculous. Personally I thought D2 was boring without them lol.

I ditched Diablo 2 after doing too many Act 5 runs, having a full set of cool armor for my barb and getting bored. I know after I left they did some UberDiablo or MiniDialo crap, and then some other things were going on, but I was busy doing War3 tournaments with my best friend.

Well, my Diablo 3 days are over. I made my 60th level Wizard and finished Normal, Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno using a regular blue 1400 DPS mace that I bought for about 2.2 million. Pretty much bored with the game and don't feel like running another class. I uninstalled it 3 days ago and I'm glad that it's not going to suck me in for the next 5 years like Diablo 2. Good riddance.

Oh, I completely agree that the Barbarian has it harder. In Acts 3-4 Inferno, it's mostly Demon Hunters and Wizards that I saw in public games. I'm bored not because it is easy (I die all the time), but because the challenge is artificial and is more or less an item check than a legitimate skill check. I beat the game because I wore gold finding gear and spent countless hours farming enough gold to buy some godly items from the auction house. Of course, anyone could just as well buy gold from third party sellers and achieve the same in less time. As it is, the game to me is flawed and that is why I quit playing.

Wait - the flaw is it's not fun because you play it in such an un-fun way to gain some purchasable item of high power, or was there another flaw?
