weird error.

some websites,
but not all,
started rendering their css completely wrong.
dreamincode is one of them,
gmail doesnt work except the html version
digg is nothing but text etc....
i didn't install anything new or change any settings that i can think of,
i am having some issues with a partition on my hd and the problem occured during the time when the hd officially gave me errors. but that can't beat it can it? its the only problem ive encountered since rebooting.

Well, I've seen that you've been having trouble with your Linux installation and that you've had other problems Firefox. I read that but since neither Windoze or Linux can find you partitions I don't know what to tell you about that, but I'm sure that probably the source of your problems. If I was stuck in such a situation I would try to completely remove Firefox via Synaptic, apt-get, or whatever package manager you use. Then re-install the package again. A fresh install of Firefox may fix your problem.

My bad, I just skimmed that remembered you saying something like neither one could find your partitions and I guess you must have been using the live cd to check that.
You might want to try restoring Firefox's default settings. I found this:

Remember, if you just want to restore Firefox back to its original default settings at any time, you can use the profile manager to first create a new profile (which automatically uses the default settings) then double-click on that new profile name to use it in Firefox. The next time you open Firefox it will be at its default settings again.

alright ,
imgonna go ahead and try that in a few minutes
interesting note:
check out the screenshot,
the part of the logo for firefox has been replaced with an image from a movie i just watched on college humor.
even after reboot it stays there.
new level of how f'ed up a computer can get lol

Did you ever get this resolved? .. . If not, have you tried clearing your cache/cookies/etc.. Basically, just wipe-out any temporary files that you don't need. If that doesn't help, then it's probably best to just uninstall/reinstall.
2¢
p.s. That's definitely VERY odd.
