How do I slide to a specific size?

I have a div that is a specific height, and I'd like to be able to click it and slide to a larger size... How could I do this? the only way I know how to slide is when you have a div that is hidden and you'd like to make it appear with a slide effect. How would I do it with a div that already exists, and I'd just like to make it larger?

Nevermind, got it by using animate. Had never used it before now, looks like I'll be using it more often.
