i think in the not-to-distant future every media form will come from the internet and it's variants, this is good and bad because everything will come faster and easier but the government can track you and find out what your doing. privacy will become a really sensitive issue

Lol. OK.. well.. if you want to make a big deal out of it.. I just like anything... but I have not played a game in awhile... I dont know why I just rather try to acomplish somthing good. ;)  I had a N64 or I still do.. just dont ever play it. :p

you know, i really think, this whole things, isnt even really about the system, or its specs, but the kinds of games your attracted too.

me, i love mario, zelda, mgs, all that kind of stuff. so naturally, i moved toward consoles. does it mean, i dont play computer games, #### no. i love playing some half life and starcraft, but, if i had to choose, id take my console games over computer games any day. i guess it was all those classic games i played growin up.

good for classic games, but lets face it, in this day and age, with the size of the files, its just not probable to download all the big games. for any system. plus, the controls and all that stuff, just arent recreated the way they were meant as the games got more complicated.

plus, its bad for the industry, to do that to anything they are currently making money off, only classic emu's for slothy. plus, how the #### do i expect them to make good games, and new interesting stuff, if they arent making any money off it.

i would have to say console, only because thats what im more familliar with... but i neeeeeeeeeed to get my hands on the RED FACTION pc game... online game play(last i heard) meant that you could play with 32 other players... one word... BLOODBATH!!!

yeah and another reason for pc is mods and mutators and other stuff you can download but that will soon change

I'm not going to take a side.  I'm just going to say for overall functions, PCs dominate consoles, and it should stay that way.
What I like about PC's:
BIOS updating
General File/Hardware updating
It is a system that allows for expansion over and over again...no limits.
It's very had to damage a component on your computer when upgrading, (unless you're someone who stucks a screwdriver in the RAM sockets...Kraig YOU IDIOT)
Wide range of competitors (hence, lower prices.)
Big gaming events only held with PCs (QuakeCON :))
Wide variety of connections, and ISPs.
If you subscribe to almost any PC ISP, you can use it on your Dreamcast (even though I don't have one).
You chose what you want to do...if you can't do it/don't have it, go get it off the internet :).
(Good) Games are stored on Hard Drives, which allows for EASY updating/tweaking.
What I like about console:
You buy the system, no sys. requirement worries (for about 4-5 years anyways :)).
Unless there is a fault, no problem with the games.
More portablility.
Able to hook up to wide range of screens. (Monitors, new portable screens, standard TVs, etc.)
Costs MUCH LESS.

In the future consoles will be getting better cause many features can be stockpiled on the Hard Drive...if they don't utilize that well I'll be super pissed that the gaming industry doesn't know basic Hard Drive manipulations/funtions.

Oh yeah one last thing.
If anyone heard of the crap with Final Fantasy Tactics (Greatest Hits version)
The first batch of CDs...wouldn't load at ALL.
They were recalled.
If it was a PC game, you'd be able to DL a small (most likely 2 - 5kb) patch file after like...2 days and BOOM...you're on your way without having to send the CD back, get a refund, exchange it, etc.  No having to get up for any reason.  Lazy people rejoice!
