problem installing visual studios 2010 vb.net

Posted 23 December 2011 - 06:10 PM

well this now marks the second time in two days that visual studios vb.net 2010 express decided to die on me... and this time around I've done everything that I had to do the last time that I got it reinstalled, uninstalling everything including the .net framework, running the .net cleanup tool, and even running like 4 registry cleaners, and nothing will work...

when I try to install it, after it extracts all of the needed temp files, it throws this error, and stops there...
"windows cannot find 'C:\users\*my username*\appdata\local\temp\SIT19120.tmp\setup.exe' make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again."

anyone know what the heck I need to do to get this fixed...nothing has changed, not even the file location of the installation files...nothing...so I am clueless as to what is going on here... anyways, if anyone knows whats going on here and how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it...

also, I just found out, the temp file's name is changed each time I try to run the setup application...

Temp files get random names each time they are created, that is their nature.

Have you tried installing as Admin?

Yes...yes I have
I even so much as tried completely closing my internet security app and trying again, nothing, just used a system restore point created an hour and a half before I uninstalled vb.net 2010 on Thursday...however, upon opening my restore points, even though I KNOW I had at least 50 restore points prior to Thursday, revo uninstaller, the earliest ones found were Thursday at roughly 8:30... so now I'm wondering if the culpret isn't in fact a virsu...so ill likely be creating a multiboot flash drive and doing a bootable virus scan today if I get te chance...because although my computer has been running unusually loud for a few weeks, id chalked it up to a dust problem due to my cluster f*** of problem factors of the location of my desktop, and the fact that that said, I've not cleaned out the dust for almost a month due to no compressed air...especially since my overclocked bios always reverts to stock settings on each bootup if its overclocked, same settings its been running fine at for nearly a year, since the overclock was made...

Desktops in the living room of the house where all 5 dogs are at 99% of the time...in a corner of said room, ajnd on the floor in the corner of said room...

But on occassion, when trying to run an installation, not every one does it, but some throw an error simmilor to this ones, saying it either can't find or can't access a certain temp file when trying to install...every one of them however has successfully installed anyways...

I am very confused...its the same exact iso file that I've extracted the same way, with 7zip, and the same exact vb.net installation I've used successfully every other successful time I've installed it...even so much as redownloaded the iso and to the same result...
