I was more concerned about the OP's anxiety for having fixed a trivial problem with the external drive, and now feels as if he *stole* it from the original owner. The guilt weighing him down, pressing upon his conscious and chest like a bloated sewer rat... stinking, fetid rat breath hanging about him as a cloying mask of noxious perfume he can taste in the back of his mouth and puts on him on the verge of perpetually retching. This... taint.. permeating his being and making him evolve into something more grotesque than a common guttersnipe.

Hmm I'd use it for two things 3 actually but we'll get to that one later.

1) To backup my MacBook Pro
2) Save offsite server logs as well as source code.

I have anime too, but all the games I install take up way more room these days. Steam will #Occupy your hard drive.

Oddly I could use the space for a persona video journal.. I am feeling particularly emo-ish today. Emo is my mood; archive my video, yes! Preserved for old me.

It's a 500 gig hard-drive. They're a dime a dozen.

Keep it around in your safe stack (usable, undamaged disks) for emergencies in the future due to hard drive failure. Or if a client/friend/family comes by and happens to be in need of a disk.

Or, disassemble it, take out the magnets and place your finger between the two. Then see if you can slide your finger out without getting pinched when the magnets come together. Always fun at parties.
