New Topic/Question
Hello, everyone! The other day, after hitting a local comic shop, I wondered if there had every been a "Comic Thread" (like the monthly desktop threads) here on DIC. Well, after searching a lil' bit, I couldn't find anything like that. So I then wondered if anybody here would even like to have one? If I were to open a thread where you could post pics to show off all your glossy geek merch, would I get any takers?

To display any comics you collect. Not really anything else, although you could if you wanted. And it also doesn't have to be just what you have picked up that month.

Well.. lol I didn't plan on taking any pics yet. I was just wondering for future reference. I mean, I didn't wanna post something like that and have like no replies. That'd be a little awkward. If somebody else posts some pics here, though, I'll take some n post em soon after. Perhaps I can make a more formal thread here in a few months (this probably isn't a monthly kinda thing, ideally.)

Personally, I don't collect any comic books. I don't really have the space and I am already collecting a bookshelf of hardcover (mostly first edition) books that I have actually read. It is going slow (sadly I don't have enough breaks to get a ton of reading done), but it is coming along.
I do however read web-comics... well a few at least. The ones I read: xkcd, questionable content, and lfg. I used to read order of the stick, but they get moving too slow for a bit and lost my interest. I may start back up again now that it looks like it may actually be moving... but yeah...
I do have other geeky merchandise which I can post pictures of once I get home (later tonight). But for the moment I am without a camera... and most of the merchandise... That makes things difficult.

Yeah I'm an amateur collector of comic (books) and the other various merch in the geeky realm. Hobby-ish thing, I guess. But before I go overboard with showing the world all my crap, I'm waiting on something I ordered to arrive... An Ebay store sent me the wrong thing, so I've gotta wait another few days for what I actually ordered. lol.

You don't have pictures in an off site storage center for insurance purposes?! What if you bits and goods are handled in appropriately? Burnt in a house fire? Absconded by nare-do-wells? Some drunk girl irrationally decides to slobber on them them and put them in her mouth?! You *MUST* protect the purity of your goods, so thrustly, with photos!

There was a thread like this where people started flaming each other over Manga and stuff. I personally don't care as I don't read any of these- I need moving pictures, sound and color at the least.

Those are all long gone now... sold my entire collection to a child-hood friend for $200 in 1996.
