I've been messing around in it lately and I've got modeling down, now I just gotta figure out textures and rendering. Anyone have any experience with Lightwave?

lightwave is the only 3d program im using currently...( i need maya and 3d studio max) and i am of no use to you... but if you want to contact me i could send you a few links that might explain something about it... my question is, is lightwave used alot professionally like in games or movies. or is maya and 3d studio primarily used...

Well, all 3 are used. Maya was used for example on Star Wars, 3D studio max was used on The Matrix, and Lightwave has been used in movies aswell (I don't know any off the top of my head). So, I don't think it really matters which one you learn cause 1, the cocepts are all the same and 2. All three are just as powerful as the others.

Lightwave is great! I was first introduced to it back in school. The learning curve wasnt too long, had enough time in 3 months to learn modeling, nurbs, bones and animation. Good shtuff!

lots and lots of lightwave tutorials... although 3dsmax is more my thing, probably just because i'm used to it.
