Wait and supersloth, no offense to you, but how are you gonna tell Skrilla that he shouldn't post that.  His post did have a point.  And with your creation of that :) post, I don't think you have the right to tell him to follow his own advice of "Not posting random stuff" His post was asking why people do it.

The smiley post was an original idea. The idea of the CL is not :spam:, it's a place for content that doesn't meet other forums descriptions. The CL is a place to talk and hang about anything and everything, except :spam:!!! A CL post should still have some meaning and/or originallity. None of us mind a humorous post if it's original and ment as interaction to the rest of the community. You only see one smiley post, that's because one is funny... it's been done. If you want a larger post count be real and add to threads in a meaningful manor. Sometimes a one line comment or an Emoticon is good or funny, but don't waste my band width with stuff that doen't teach me something, make laugh, makes me think, or creates a worthwhile discussion. In my opinion, a large portion of CL posts are worthwhile and valuable to the board, but some sh*t like that are mind numbingly ignorant and a waste of space.

Think when you post:

• Am I adding value?
  
• Does it inform?
  
• Does my reply add to the thread ( humor, information, and advice posts)?
  
• Has it been done, said, or posted prior?
  
• Is it really funny or am I just an idiot?

Those are the things you need to consider, along with who knows what else. Just my opinion, I'm sure others may agree or disagree.

CL posts are not reasons to spam, show your ass, and talk nonsense.... I have never read read a post from Sky, Neo, Jain, sloth, Quik, and many others that did not have some hint of humor or information to, but lately many have felt that the CL is a post # booster and area for meaningless retarded babble. That pisses me off because I would like to see the CL still count for members post counts in the future. I feel like these types of theards that we are discussing are ruining it for other members.

I'm ranting........O'well, I'll go back to work now. :wink:

I think I can speak for all Admins when i say that we are all getting tired of your spam. BlueCube, can you point me to 10 threads that you posted in out side of the Caffiene Lounge or Cool Sites?  How do you add to the site?  Why should we NOT ban you?  

And Skrilla, Sloth is god here, he will tell you whatever he wants to tell you. When you have been around this site 1/10 as long as he has, and have added 1/100th the amount of help he has, you can start to talk shit, but you've got along way to go before then.

neo, im not, well, at least im not *trying* to spam here. I stayed out of the CL for a long time because I didn't want to get chewed out for 'spamming.' I hate spam. I will try to avoid it in the future if you consider me as a spammer. Other than that, I don't see why, just because someone has been here a looooooong time (as sloth has been) that that gives him or her a right to talk shit to someone when they just make up random stuff themselves. I'm not trying to cause trouble here; i hope to be here for a while (well, most people do, i presume). I didn't join up to get a high post-count; that's not even near my goal. yes, its cool, yes, most people want it (including myself), but im not going to lower myself down to :spam: to get it! I think i posted *one* thing in the 'smiley' thread (yes, it was fun!), I don't think that 1 post is going to up my post count very much at all.  Personally I think post counts are over-rated. They just make people want to spam the boards (like some people are - im not discluding myself); in the future I will try to avoid it.

also, im not complaining. well, ok, i kind of am, but im not straight-up bitching about it. And i didn't really talk shit to Sloth - I think you should speak with BlueCube about that one...

as for the rules, im not complaining about them at all. not even close to it! show me where in this post that i was complaining about the rules - tell me where you got that idea from...

Skrilla, which post are you complaining about of Sloths?  The Smiley thread was way before your time and had a very good point back then.  I think your alot better than BlueCube, and some of that was directed at him, but I really don't like whining.  It's pretty lame. Sorry.

I just wanna say that the butch comments, the smiley thread, etc. etc. by the ADMINS are an attempt to bring some sort of reality at how dumb that stuff is. We are setting an example using reverse psychology. We aren't doing it to show you it's ok.

Sloth, Myself, Neo, Jared, and all the other admins have contributed enough to this site that we have the right to post a little BS from time to time. But those that do it right from the start, or even only have 50 posts in other areas are... SOL. I'm sure you've noticed we make the occasional stupid post or one word post, but it's because we've made 50 other posts for each :spam: post we make or whatever you wanna call it.

That's my view on the situation. I'm all for having you guys stick around, but when our policies and actions are questioned directly in the forums, it's BS... you need to take things like that up in email or PM. Not in the forums. If you have an issue or want to dispute something someone did, email or PM them, don't create ANOTHER thread to argue the point.
