Another great look'n piece of hardware from ThinkGeek.com.

The Terapin CD Video Recorder is a VCR that uses CD-Rs. You can also use it to burn audio cds. Not to mention it would look sweet in just about any entertainment center.

Haven't they had VCD records for awhile now?  Why wouldn't you just wait about 6 months for the DVD version to come out?

This one looks really nice even if there were previous ones.  (Obviously they're had VCD players...but recorders are new to me.)
DVD recorders are going to suck 1st edition IMO.  They are going to have all these copy-proof provisions even worse than the current DVD->VCR ones.

Indeed, VCD records have been around a bit. There are now more makes and options and the pricing is slowly coming down.

I agree, the DVD would be much, much better. I'm sure they'll be pricey for awhile though.
