Ubuntu 7.04 Profile locked by administrator

Posted 17 May 2007 - 06:23 PM

Hi I have Ubuntu Fiesty Installed on my computer, and I think I messed something up. I've had it working fine, but I messed something up and now when I try to log in, it says that the profile was locked by the administrator. I booted in recovery mode, logged into the terminal as root, and ran startx, so I've got a gui to work with. Problem is, when I go to users and groups, it says "You are not allowed to access the system configuration." Whats the deal? I can't figure this out. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you lost root? There are several ways to get it back. Not all of them are listed here but should get you started.
