New iMacs were announced like 2 hours ago. I was watching live via Quicktime.  www.time.com has a great look at them and you can get all your mac world expo coverage at www.macminute.com

#### that looks gay, i certanly dont want an imac now, or any mac, really, macs are great for 2d graphics, but thats about it, if u just wanna surf the net or fool around on the compute then pc the choice, more options and opurtinities. though the LCD is one minor benifit.

The new iMac is perfect for what I want. I have a Titanium right now, and always wanted to buy a Mac desktop, but never wanted a PowerMac, because then I would have to buy the monitor, everything extra, and I wanted a Flat Panel with my mac. This thing is PERFECT, it has good hard drive space, a #### fast G4, lots of memory, and a FLAT PANEL! Perfect for my mac needs.

Although, I must say, that I wouldnt rely on it for my MAIN machine. I will always have a PC

eww. i hate LCD displays with a passion.

the only allure Mac hold for me is that i wouldn't have to support Microsuck anymore. but, sorry, im still not convinced that Macs are going to survive. i think they're going down, like it or not.

What's the deal with FPDs Jared?  if you get a "good" one you're fine... get one with dot defect or something funky that'll ruin your day... but the FPDs have come a long way... might want to give them a chance...

Jered, Apple is not going away, they are on a come back, if what happened like 5 years ago didn't kill them, nuthin will. ####, they just got an order from the State of Maine for 36,000 iBooks.  Every 7th and 8th grader in the state gets one.

Elite Eagle, Don't talk about shit when you don't know what your talking about.  If Macs are "only good for 2D graphics"  how come Star Wars is made on them?  Infact, I just watch an interview broadcast live from MacWorld where George Lucas talked about how great they are, how they are the best, how they have more macs than anything else.   And if you think they are so great for 3D,  Scientist and Schools have been using them since they came out.  A majority of Research Scientist use Macs.  Cheap Trick, Puff Daddy, Paul Oakenfold, and Moby all use macs.   I guess all these people are just using macs cause they are pretty huh?
And does it look gay cause it's different? Way to perpetuate stupidity.  And I'm willing to bet that if you set my G4 next to your PC, went to the same website on the same connection, Mine will render the page faster in Internet Explorer faster than yours will. And don't let me get in to how even ZDnet says OS X is what XP wants tries to be and how it kicks the shit outta it.

i had to use my boss's FPD one time last year, and it thoroughly pissed me off because every time i moved my head, the colors would change on the screen. it was like looking at one of those cheap toy watch party favors where you turn the face and it reads a different time. i just about threw it out the window. not to mention that the colors looked different on a cold day than on a warm day. foe Average Joe Internet User, that's no big deal, i guess, but for a designer it's a pain in the ass. and this wasn't a cheapo FPD... i mean, it was a Gateway , but it was still top-of-the-line. but hey, if a year's worth of improvements have nullified the complaints i just listed, cool.

i keep hearing about Mac's good sales, but i've also heard that it's not nearly good enough to save a crumbling product line. but hey, i hope they do survive. God knows i don't want to live in Mr. Gates' world forever...

Where they #### are you reading this?  Crumbling Product line? It was crubling until like 98 when they introduced the first iMac.  They sold over 5 million of those, they sold 125,000 iPods in the first 60 days.  Man, you need to get the WSJ, your behind the times like 4 years. lol.  ;)

the noreacle::i think it looks gay, and thats my opinion, and u cant prove that right or wrong, as for its abilties, its good for 2d and 3d graphics, but pcs can do 2d and 3d graphics as good as macs, even if u need a bit more power, it would probly come out cheaper anyway if u bought a system, and way more programs run on pcs.

I know that it's your opinion but I'd like you to show a little maturity and at least state why you think it looks gay.

Also, I love PCs, and I also like Macs. If I had to choose then I would choose a PC simply because of my preferences. I respect the Macs and bow to their innovations, unique style, and their proccessor's raw power :) As long as my PC allows me to accomplish the tasks that I want to accomplish then I'll stick with it. Don't tell me about problems YOU have with PCs because I don't have them.

And actually, I'll probably end up getting one. They're so cheap! I could use something like that for my room. I expected that Apple would unveil more then they did today...

ok no gay bashing, but dumb because the roundness just deosnt look right at all TO ME. and deos the moniter have a seperate stand, because itd be cool if u could move it around, perhaps the desk u have is too high, and that extra hight of the system makes looking at it uncomfortable lol.
