sorry about double posting but the card has come to day and it says it needs a 600 watt power supply ( i have a 850 watt ) and 45amps. I have 35amps on a quad rail. If i put my both pci express wires to it im guessing the power supply will only use the one rail ? So would be getting 34 amps going to the card though the two pci express wires ?

I thought we went over this.. and over it.. and over it again. Add up the amps per connector.. give a bit of sway due to power coming from the PCI slot and you have your answer.

If a power supply has two video card connectors, then it most likely has the power connectors distributed across multiple rails.

If the video card that you want to use requires a certain amount of AMPs and WATTs then that's what you need.

IF you connect a video card with out its extra power connectors and turn on the computer, the computer will yell at you stating that it does not have the correct power.

can you please STOP, and re-list your computers setup? With model numbers?
