Converting a Java App to an Applet

Posted 01 July 2012 - 12:12 PM

I have simple program that opens the most recent file from a given directory, and it works fine as a Java app. I needed to put it on an html page, so I added the phrase "extends Applet" to my classname. Then I just embedded it in the HTML page, but the applet doesn't run when I open the HTML page.

After googling how to convert an app to an applet I came up with a lot of stuff on how to convert a Java app with a GUI to an applet with a GUI. I don't need to have a GUI, but I tried integrating what I found into my Java app with no success.

I also looked into some tutorials on bare bones applets(through Oracle and some random websites), but didn't find anything useful. My program is attached in case that may help. Thank you in advance.
