How to create an .mdf database in sql 2010EE

Posted 10 July 2012 - 08:45 AM

I'm creating a database in MS SQL 2010EE that will be used by an app written in VB.NET 2010 and need it to be an mdf. So my question is how do I create a database with a .mdf extension or is it possible to convert a .ssmssqlproj to a .mdf?

A mdf file is created by using the command
CREATE DATABASE NameOfDB

Also, any other extended script that will set additional properties will do the work. A mdf file is the place where all the data is stored. A ssmssqlproj is just a collection of scripts. The conversion you we're talking is the process of running these scripts(in which you have one script that creates a database)
