Great idea. I saw a bunch of emails and was concerned I'd missed my chance to pick up some decent players on waivers - glad to know I'll have a chance today.

Uh. I just realized the theory was next Monday. My problem with that is I was hoping to fill some... gaps with players on waivers before the first game, which, if i'm not an idiot, is tonight. Basically I think I'm guaranteed to lose if I can't grab a free agent for the first week.

I was thinking, instead of having a team have a bye week, should we add another team and just give them a team full of miami players or something? Kinda like how skyhawk was last year, except he actually did accumulate some wins haha

what holes do you have? sorry, i thought everyone knew to draft for the starting 9...

I did draft for the starting 9 - however not being able to grab free agents really disadvantages those who may have chosen decent players but have a bad matchup teamwise the opening week. My real concern is that Peterson, while potentially (or maybe not) a good pick, is getting eased into the season and might not even play game 1.

I'm not really broken up over a loss, but news was coming in well after the first few rounds of the draft that might make having a bench important so that one could react to them.

well, i agree, but i also basically thought that was the point to grab good players who could play in week 1.

either way, it doesn't really matter to me, i just picked next week because it gave everyone the same time to logon and fill out their roster. if you guys want to do friday or something that is fine, as long as you weren't planning on picking up giants or cowboys, i suppose. i'll leave it up to majority decision.

I agree, and that's the general goal I would think, but for example, what happens if a player gets injured in practice after being drafted in round 3 (fabricated example)?

Not to sound like a perpetual whiner, but it looks like I have the wrong Adrian Peterson? It seems like there's an Adrian Peterson "Free Agent" in their database, as well as the correct Adrian Peterson who plays for the Vikings. Odd. Ideally nobody grabs Peterson until that's cleared up if it isn't fixed by the open picks tomorrow.
