Hey guys. It's Father's day coming up, and since my dad's router is starting to play up (Constantly disconnecting, signal is poor), I've decided I'm going to buy him a fancy new router. Personally, I don't know a whole lot about networking hardware, so what would you guys suggest? We live in a 2 story house, and all rooms that will be using the WiFi are in close proximity. I'm looking to spend no more than $250 on a router.
Any help will be awesome. Thanks guys.
New router.

I would look into Ubiquiti.

You can build it out to include networked cameras, sensors, remote power management, and the works.
A little pricey, but works like a dream.

This seems like a good idea, but honestly, it can't be in anyway tricky, as I'm not going to be here forever, and I know that Dad won't be able to upkeep something like that. Lol. Would Linksys router's be good for home use?

Yeah.. a linksys/netgear/cisco.. I mean it's a house, right? Put it somewhere with decent access to everything and if need be a few repeaters..

Those are all optional. It's pretty well plug and play, and add more units to expand as you will.
